Father's Day is next week so thought I'd dig up a photo of Dad from my laptop. I can tell by looking closely that I need to improve my scanning tools. I wobbled and slightly distorted his face. I believe this photo was taken in the spring of 1962 at the time of my sister's Lisa Ahlstrom ) First Communion. I'm guessing based on the dress she was wearing. We lived in Spokane at the time and I was in 6th grade. She was in first grade. My Dad traveled seven western states selling shoes to shoe stores. When he came home after a long trip he didn't recognize my sister at first out on the street with the other kids. . It was typically long and styled in a pony tail by my mother. However, my mom had a bout of bursitis in her arm and she couldn't raise her arm to pull the hair back into its usual style, so she cut it off into a pixie cut. Underneath the blonde was dark hair. So on return my Dad asked Mom who the kid was with the short dark hair with the other kids. He had probably turned into the carport quickly and headed into the house. Miss you Dad and your chuckling laugh that could be heard throughout the house.
